Proverbs 3:5–6
[5] With all your heart you must trust the Lord and not your own judgment. [6] Always let him lead you, and he will clear the road for you to follow.
Follow the breadcrumbs. Step by step the Lord will lead you if you obey and seek Him. Trusting God to direct your steps means moving when He prompts you to move and resting on His promises in between those steps. Fully trusting the Lord is an active walk—one that requires obedience, patience, and courage.
Your life is not over yet. Your steps are not finished. And just because you stopped moving for a moment doesn’t mean that’s your destination. The life of a follower of Jesus is continual movement. That’s why Scripture calls it walking with the Lord. Step after step, your faith grows stronger, and you draw closer to Him—even when the path doesn’t make sense.
Imagine how bold you would be if you could look back and see thousands of moments where the Lord protected you, provided for you, and guided you. For there to be thousands of those moments, you must let Him lead you thousands of times. Trusting God to direct your steps is how those moments are created.
He is unchanging and unmovable. We, however, are often like waves tossed around by the storm—shifting, doubting, hesitating. But when we fix our sight on Jesus, He lifts us out of the storm and sets our feet on solid ground. Only then can we move forward with confidence.
Praise God for His grace and mercy. Because of His love, we have more opportunities than we deserve to get it right. In the end, all we truly have is our relationship with the Lord and how far our faith and obedience brought us. Everything else is meaningless.
So keep moving. Keep trusting. Keep letting God direct your steps.
Thank you, Father, for another day. Amen.
James 1:5–8
[5] If any of you need wisdom, you should ask God, and it will be given to you. God is generous and won't correct you for asking. [6] But when you ask for something, you must have faith and not doubt. Anyone who doubts is like an ocean wave tossed around in a storm. [7–8] If you are that kind of person, you can't make up your mind, and you surely can't be trusted. So don't expect the Lord to give you anything at all.
Here again, Scripture shows us that trusting God to direct your steps requires unwavering faith. A man who trusts the Lord is not thrown around by doubt. He stands steady, asks boldly, obeys fully, and walks forward knowing God will clear the road ahead.
