A Spirit of Thankfulness: The Rescue Rope in Life’s Hard Moments

Updated: Jun 24

Digital painting of a man kneeling in a dark ravine, holding a glowing rope of light descending from the sky, with golden rays shining down and an open gate in the distance. Text reads: “Lifted by Love. Fueled by Thankfulness.”
When life pulls you down, His love lifts you up. Even in the deepest pit, God’s rescue is near—reach for Him with a spirit of thankfulness.

Psalms 100:4

Enter his gates with thanksgiving; go into his courts with praise. Give thanks to him and praise his name.

Every once in a while, life just gets heavy. I start to overthink, and before I know it, I’m anxious or overwhelmed. Honestly, there’s a lot in this world that can weigh you down and steal your joy. The enemy sets traps everywhere—designed to distract, discourage, and derail.

It’s easy to feel yourself slipping. One small misstep, and suddenly you're sliding into that pit of stress, worry, or frustration.

But here’s the truth: Look up.

Your Heavenly Father has His hand out, waiting for you to grab hold. You don’t have to fall. You don’t have to keep sliding. But even if you’ve already fallen—flat on your back with the wind knocked out of you—God is still there. He’s still reaching for you. Still ready to pull you back up, steady your steps, and walk with you.

That feeling of being rescued—of being restored by the Lord—is unlike anything else.

And when we recognize just how faithful, patient, and loving God truly is, it should move us to live with a deep spirit of thankfulness.
