A Testimony of Healing Through Faith in God That Strengthened My Belief

Today’s testimony is brought to you by our Heavenly Father.
This is an older testimony of healing through faith in God, but I felt compelled to share it again. Even now, it warms my heart just remembering how the Lord moved so powerfully.
I have been blessed with a like-minded brother and mentor who lives out his faith daily. He always has someone the Lord has placed on his heart to pray for, and he is constantly seeking opportunities to lift others up. Watching his faithfulness has strengthened my own walk with God and prepared me for moments like this testimony of healing through faith in God.
One day—whether it was after church or on a Saturday, I can’t remember—a mutual acquaintance from church was facing every parent’s worst nightmare: a sick child. Their daughter had been ill long enough that she was missing school regularly. The weight of it sat heavy on her father’s heart. All he wanted was to see his innocent daughter restored and free from pain, trusting God for healing even when the situation felt overwhelming.
When we arrived at their home, we were welcomed by her mom, aunt, dad, and their daughter, who was around ten years old. Everyone was kind and welcoming. My first impression of her was how respectful, intelligent, and gentle she was. I could sense the Lord had given her a special understanding—an important foundation for what would become a testimony of healing through faith in God.
With her mom, aunt, and dad gathered around, my brother and I knelt down to pray. As my brother began praying, I could feel the presence of the Lord fill the room. I quietly sought Him, asking for guidance. Almost immediately, the Lord gave me insight—something specific for her.
My brother paused and asked, “Kevin, are you getting anything?”
I opened my eyes and looked directly at her.
The Lord showed me that I didn’t need to pray over her—I needed to speak to her. I said, “The Lord told me you can understand just like an adult, and you can understand this. God says all you have to do is believe, and you will be healed.”
She simply nodded her head.
In that moment, I felt overwhelming joy. This was my first experience like this, and the Lord was strengthening my faith by allowing me to be part of a testimony of healing through faith in God—something deeply personal and just for her.
Afterward, her mom and aunt prayed, and we closed our time together. The peace in the room was undeniable. We all felt the after-effect of the Holy Spirit moving in our midst.
As we were leaving, I turned back one last time. I looked her in the eyes and quietly whispered, “Believe.”
She smiled and nodded again.
A few days later, I spoke with a close family friend and learned that this precious girl went back to school the very next day. The Lord had rewarded her belief. This testimony of healing through faith in God filled my heart with gratitude and awe.
There is truly nothing like witnessing the Lord heal and answer prayers. When I reflect on this now, I can see how the Lord was preparing her for an incredible life and a deep relationship with Him. Experiencing a testimony of healing through faith in God at such a young age lays a powerful foundation for a lifetime of trust.
I pray her parents continue to encourage that relationship and that she grows into a strong, faithful woman of God.
