Are You Truly Not Ashamed of the Gospel?

Romans 1:16-17
[16] For I am not ashamed of this Good News about Christ. It is the power of God at work, saving everyone who believes—the Jew first and also the Gentile. [17] This Good News tells us how God makes us right in his sight. This is accomplished from start to finish by faith. As the Scriptures say, “It is through faith that a righteous person has life.”
Are you ashamed? Does the thought of reaching out to a stranger and sharing the Good News with them scare you? We will all miss an opportunity, and it should hurt. That hurt can become a driving force for change in your life. On the other hand, some of us avoid it altogether to spare ourselves the embarrassment or whatever scary word we can drum up at the moment. But God has not called us to live not ashamed of the Gospel only when it feels comfortable. He has called us to boldly share the truth.
Let's look at the definition of ashamed: the feeling of guilt, embarrassment, or disgrace, typically because you have done something wrong, foolish, or feel connected to something you regret.
Do any of these apply to your reason for not reaching out or holding back when you have the opportunity? We are not doing something wrong. God has given us the answer to all of life's mysteries. Being connected to God is not something we—or they—will regret. This is the love, relationship, and purpose each person has been searching for.
I remember a time in my life when I had the opportunity to meet a lot of new people. After some time, I got to know and became friends with many of the homeless people around where I live. I started off each encounter with, "Hello, brother or sister, do you believe in God?" I wanted every relationship to begin by talking about God. Every time someone brought up a hardship, I would do my best to bring the Lord into it by praying over them and speaking the Word of God over their situation. A couple of friends asked me one evening at church, "How are you able to just talk about this stuff so easily with people you don't know?"
My answer was simple. "I believe with all my heart and soul that what I'm sharing with them is the truth."
If we truly believe that what we have is the answer, then there should be nothing holding us back. You hold the cure for every disease of the heart. Why cover your light and treat it as though the Savior—the answer to all their questions—will only offend? God doesn't tell us to share only if we don't risk offending someone. The Word of God is naturally offensive to human pride, but through God's love we are called to speak boldly and openly with everyone we meet. Living not ashamed of the Gospel means trusting God with the results and leaving the response in His hands.
I pray this causes an inward reflection and that the Lord shows you what's holding you back.
There is nothing in this world, not even the threat of death, that should keep us from introducing everyone we meet to our Heavenly Father. May we live each day not ashamed of the Gospel, knowing it is the power of God to save all who believe.

Matthew 28:19-20
[19] Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. [20] Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”
