Because Jesus Understands Our Weaknesses, We Don't Have to Hide

Hebrews 4:15-16
[15] This High Priest of ours understands our weaknesses, for he faced all of the same testings we do, yet he did not sin. [16] So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most.
He understands our weakness. What an amazing statement when you take the time to really
think about that. God—unlimited, with no beginning and no end, the One who created everything we see—understands us.
And the amazingness doesn't stop there.
When you think about His plan from the beginning of time, we see how this all unfolded. Jesus' life, suffering, temptation, and persecution were for our benefit. One of the reasons He did this was so that we would see that Jesus understands our weaknesses because He also walked through this messy and painful world.
This shows us that our God is not distant; He does understand and relate to us in our weakest moments.
I like to think of these verses as similar to sharing about a tough time with a friend who you know is going through or has been through the same thing. I feel comfortable letting my real frustrations out, and I feel comfortable talking about my temptations and weaknesses without judgment.
This is the openness your Father wants from you, and He's made a way for us to come to Him without fear of disappointing or shocking Him.
He knows and has seen it all.
When we mess up, our first reaction is often to hide from God because we expect anger. These verses remind us that Jesus feels empathy for our weaknesses. When you pray, He gives mercy for your mistakes and grace to help you stand strong in future temptations.
Remember, God is good and loves us this way because of who He is, not because we've earned it. Come boldly to God's throne of grace because He is welcoming you.
Jesus understands our weaknesses. He understands your hurt, your poverty, your hunger, your betrayal, your persecution, and your spiritual warfare. Be real and lay it all out at your Father's feet so that you won't have anything holding you back or tainting everything you do.
What an amazing God we serve.

Isaiah 53:3-5
[3] He was despised and rejected— a man of sorrows, acquainted with deepest grief. We turned our backs on him and looked the other way. He was despised, and we did not care. [4] Yet it was our weaknesses he carried; it was our sorrows that weighed him down. And we thought his troubles were a punishment from God, a punishment for his own sins! [5] But he was pierced for our rebellion, crushed for our sins. He was beaten so we could be whole. He was whipped so we could be healed.
