Christian Testimony About Impact at Work: From Conversations to Baptism

A hyper-realistic digital painting of a worker standing in prayer at an industrial shop. Golden light, representing the Holy Spirit, radiates from him and intertwines around coworkers, with some streams entering their hearts, symbolizing the lasting impact of everyday Christian faith in the workplace.
The light of the Holy Spirit flows through our everyday demeanor, touching the hearts of those around us and leaving a lasting impact at work.

Today's testimony is brought to you by our Heavenly Father.

Impact. Sometimes we never know if we have an impact on a person or not. To know or see this is a gift, not a requirement. Other times we are blessed to see the impact, and it inspires a big move on someone’s part. This is my Christian testimony about impact at work.

I’ve been at this job for about six months. From the beginning, I made the commitment to be open and bold about my faith. It’s been pretty great so far, though with mixed reviews. Some people opposed it, and I respectfully didn’t directly talk to them about it. However, I would openly share encouragement with someone right next to them.

I even offered to pray over the shop every morning with my coworkers. One person opposed, so I stopped pushing. What they didn’t know is that I prayed over the shop every morning anyway. My offer was for their benefit, not mine.

A friend I work with was raised Catholic and had only a minimal understanding of God as I know Him. At the beginning, I would often say things like “Praise God!” or “Thank You, Lord” at every opportunity. Soon, my friend began saying it too, and then a couple of mechanics joined us.

Not long after, I found out my friend had started going to church and was loving it. The Lord then blessed us with time for meaningful conversations—ones that started with real-world issues but always turned toward faith, hope, and not letting fear take hold. Each conversation grew deeper, and I could see my friend gaining a true understanding of the Lord and how He works.

After months of these talks, one afternoon my friend said, “I have something important to tell you. I’m getting baptized on Sunday!”

I was so excited I could hardly find the words, other than “Praise God!” This moment was the greatest evidence yet of a Christian testimony about impact at work. God was moving, starting a path, a calling, and a change.

What an incredible blessing to know my friend had a church, family, and new faith community to encourage them forward. My family even attended the baptism service to support and welcome this new believer into the family of God.

Now, I am excited to see where this journey goes and how the Lord uses the growing presence of believers in our workplace. This testimony reminds me to thank God daily for the opportunity to be a light.

Thank You, Father, for one more day. Amen.
