Matthew 11:28
[28] If you are tired from carrying heavy burdens, come to me and I will give you rest.
Stress is a part of life. I hate it and try to avoid it, but sometimes it hits straight on. Still, finding rest in God during stress is not just an option—it’s a calling. God has told us not to take part in stress. Did you know that? Every one of His commands to give up our troubles, trust Him, and let go is meant to provide us with a way out.
At my job, I’m in a stressful situation, but I received a word the other day that said, do not take part in the stress. That hit me hard. In any given situation, I already have all I need to make that decision—to leave it at the Lord’s feet instead of hanging it around my neck.
Your faith in God will determine how successful you are in letting go. When you give it up, you must let go completely so that God can do His work. Otherwise, you’re still carrying part of the load He asked for.
Our lives are a path of continual opportunities for growth. Looking at each situation that way helps keep us steady on the path. It’s easy to struggle when your job or life pressures push against your ethics or Biblical principles. But finding rest in God during stress means trusting that He will show you how to stand firm without losing your peace.
God is with you. He will give you an answer for how He wants you to handle it. Stay close, stay in prayer, and trust that God’s got this.
Thank You, Father, for another day.
Amen.
