God Heals: A Testimony of God's Perfect Timing and Healing

A side-by-side illustration comparing one year ago and today. On the left, an exhausted father sits on a bench at a county fair while his wife and daughter wait several steps ahead, capturing the discouragement of physical weakness. On the right, the same father walks confidently beside his wife and daughter through the fair, smiling and full of renewed strength, symbolizing God's healing, restoration, and faithfulness.
One year can change everything when God is at work. The man who once stayed behind is now walking confidently beside the people he loves. God is still in the business of healing, restoring, and preparing His children for what He has called them to do.

Today's testimony is brought to you by my Heavenly Father.

It's been a little while since I've had a testimony like this, so I am excited to share. I have been on the mend for a little while now. Some days I feel good and like I am able to do things and go places, and other days I walk up the stairs of our house and I'm winded. It keeps me humble and reminds me that I am on a long road of recovery. Even in the middle of it, I have been learning that God heals in His perfect timing.

While I was sick, I packed on a lot of weight. Other than almost dying, it was the thing I hated the most and probably discouraged me the most. By the grace of God, I found a way to shed these extra pounds, and it's been working! I've dropped almost 20 pounds, and as you will see, it's about to get even better. Years of every weight-loss attempt failing were undone in His timing and by His direction. One of the benefits of being obedient about sharing even the embarrassing stuff is that, if you feel led, you know exactly what to pray for.

One evening at a worship night hosted by our pastor in his home, I was blessed. The worship was powerful, and the Holy Spirit moved in all of us. After everyone began to leave, I was able to pray with people. I had a word for a couple more, and most importantly, I could feel that fire burning at my core. I was there for a reason! This was really awesome because about 30 minutes before, I had actually decided I wasn't going to attend. The enemy was making me feel depressed, and it ruined my outlook. After praying, the Lord gave me just the right amount of strength to get my butt out the door.

Standing in a circle with my brothers and sisters and talking long after the meeting had ended, the Lord was still moving. My brother looked at me and said that the Lord had been developing something in him for a while. It was the understanding that the Lord can work even in our weakness—not only in our weakness, but at the weakest point of our weakness. He placed his weak hand over my heart and said, "I feel like now is the time, and I need to pray for healing."

In those moments, I forget the words that are prayed. I can only describe it as a closer encounter with God that makes everything else melt away, and I focus only on His face. I felt warmth. I felt filled up. I felt God's hand on me.

On Saturday, I met with two brothers at the park for worship, fellowship, and prayer, and again, I was prayed for. Both of my brothers laid hands on me and prayed for healing, and I could feel heat where their hands were. They were praying the same thing, asking the Lord to heal my body now so that I could do what He's called me to do. Again, I encountered the Lord, and His power and love humbled me. Who am I that You should bless me this much and have these great men pray over me?

This past weekend was the Fiesta Days Fair in town. My daughter really wanted to go, and my wife had purchased tickets ahead of time, so we went. I walked with my wife and daughter for miles all over the fairgrounds, and I felt as if my legs were fully restored. I felt like my lungs could breathe, my heart could pump correctly, my feet didn't hurt, and all of my concerns were gone. I've stayed home from theme parks and events because I didn't want to deal with the frustration and shame of not being able to keep up. Now, by the grace and love of my Heavenly Father, I can walk without fear. Once again, God heals, and I am living proof of His faithfulness.

Now that I have this miracle, be prepared for the next testimony of rapid weight loss!

Praise God I can exercise now! I cannot wait to see what He does next because God heals far more than our bodies—He restores our hope, our purpose, and our confidence in Him.

Thank you, Father, for one more day.

Amen.
