God Is in the Little Things: A Reminder That He Is Still in the Fire

Today's testimony is brought to you by our Heavenly Father.
Sometimes I feel like the miracles or provisions that we expect are big things: a million-dollar check in the mail, a house to hold all our family rent-free, or a brand-new car! My testimony today is to show the reality of the love we receive daily from a God who cares about even the little things. Sometimes we just need the reminder that God is in the little things.
Our current situation is changing how we do things. Going from two vehicles to one might not sound like a big deal, but you don't realize how much the activities overlap until you're trying to figure out how to be in two places at once. We are forced to accept that, one way or another, it will be a sacrifice for one of us. No big deal.
On Sunday afternoon, my wife and I were discussing the week ahead, and when we got to Wednesday, the problem was pretty big. I would drop my wife and daughter at the gym, then take the vehicle to Oxnard for my son's MMA class. My son's class isn't done until about 8, and my wife and daughter are done at 7:30. In the middle of trying to figure it out, and my wife suggesting that they could get a ride from someone, my mom calls.
"Hey Kev, I was just thinking, I am feeling better and I would like to start taking Jaxon to MMA on Wednesdays again if that's OK?"
She had no idea how perfect her timing was. The Lord reminded and encouraged her to reach out right then, and it was perfect. It solved a problem for us, but more importantly, it showed us that we were not alone. God is in the little things, and sometimes His provision comes through something as simple as a perfectly timed phone call.
I didn't get a call from my mom saying, "Hey, let's head down to the dealership and I'll buy you whatever truck you want." I didn't get a million-dollar check in the mail. I didn't even get any money at all; in fact, my bank account is still empty. Some would say that's hardly a miracle with everything else burning down, and I would say you have the wrong perspective.
As followers, sometimes the most meaningful and helpful thing is simply knowing that we are not alone. At that moment, I was reminded that there is another in the fire standing next to me.
That means there is a purpose to this trial and that my Father is with me, guiding me and helping me. Even though the fire can make it hard to see, God knows the best way forward, and leaning into Him is the only way we can grow as we make it through to the other side of the Jordan.
Don't overlook His provision because it didn't come the way you expected. God is in the little things, too.
Stay faithful.
Thank you, Father, for one more day. Amen.
