Love One Another: Seeing People Through the Eyes of Christ

Updated: Jul 3

Illustration of a compassionate young man sitting on the ground with his arm around a distressed, disheveled homeless man. The words "Love One Another" appear above them, and below reads "See people the way Jesus does." The image conveys empathy, dignity, and Christ-like love.
True love sees past appearances. When we love one another the way Jesus does, we stop judging and start healing.

Hebrews 6:10–11 (NLT)

“For God is not unjust. He will not forget how hard you have worked for Him and how you have shown your love to Him by caring for other believers, as you still do. Our great desire is that you will keep on loving others as long as life lasts, in order to make certain that what you hope for will come true.”

As always with the messages the Lord gives, there’s a consistent theme: love. It’s the most important Christ-like characteristic we can show. And just like we see in Scripture—when something is repeated, it’s because our Father really wants us to pay attention.

This passage is deeply encouraging. It echoes the message from the other day: even when it feels like the love you show goes unnoticed or unappreciated, God sees you. He doesn’t forget your pure heart. That alone is enough to keep us going.

God’s approval—His “Well done”—fills us with boldness and faith. And that boldness becomes the force behind truly loving our brothers and sisters in Christ.

Let it in. Let it change you.

Let it remove the veil the enemy has placed over your eyes. When that veil is lifted, you begin to see people the way Jesus did—as loved. Everything else fades into the background.

  • Their physical appearance? Meaningless.

  • Their social status? Meaningless.

  • The way they speak or carry themselves? Meaningless.

The only thing that truly matters in those moments is your response.

And if you’ve already reached that place—if you no longer see the external and instead see souls needing love, forgiveness, and purpose—praise God! The veil has been lifted, and you're seeing people with the eyes of Christ.

But if you're not there yet and you want to be, it’s time to hit your knees. Ask the Lord to help you love like He does. And then—put it into practice. Go out and love people intentionally.

This, I believe, is the key to real growth and deeper understanding. God meets you where you are, especially when you’re reaching for more of Him. He will honor your desire to grow. And every step of faith you take—every bold move you make to love others—He rewards.

So keep stepping. Keep pushing. God is right beside you, ready to equip you with everything you need to take the next step of faith. Once your eyes are opened to this kind of love-filled life, you won’t want to go back.

Because you love only because God loved you first.

2 John 1:5–6 (NLT)

“I am writing to remind you, dear friends, that we should love one another. This is not a new commandment, but one we have had from the beginning. Love means doing what God has commanded us, and He has commanded us to love one another, just as you heard from the beginning.”

Wear the Message. Live the Mission.

Looking for a tangible reminder to love one another as Christ loves us? We’ve created a shirt inspired by this message—not just to wear, but to share. It's a conversation starter and a quiet act of discipleship, pointing others to the heart of Jesus.
