Trusting God in Difficult Times When a Miracle Is Your Only Option.

A man walks along a dark, uncertain path toward a bright cross breaking through storm clouds. Light shines on the path ahead while money, possessions, and plans are left behind, symbolizing trusting God when you cannot see a way forward.
When you can’t see a way forward, keep walking in faith. God is already there, lighting the next step.

Psalms 46:1-3

[1] God is our refuge and strength, always ready to help in times of trouble. [2] So we will not fear when earthquakes come and the mountains crumble into the sea. [3] Let the oceans roar and foam. Let the mountains tremble as the waters surge! Interlude

The beauty of these verses really comes out when you are in trouble. Think of that kind of faith! God is my strength, so bring it on! I am unafraid.

Reading those words gave me the boost I needed this morning. Praying and seeking the Lord for His answers is what brought me to these verses that He hand-picked for me.

Here's the thing about great testimonies of God coming through in a major way: you need to be in a position where your only hope is God coming through in a major way.

Our God is a jealous God; He doesn't want to compete with the other options you are considering for rescue. No matter your situation, wealthy or poor, God's way and His rescue need to be your only option by choice. Trusting God in difficult times means turning away from all other paths and marching up the path God has for you. Shedding the weight of worldly things makes this journey much easier.

Yesterday started out pretty good, then got great. My beautiful wife is in LA for a work convention, so I am with my kids, trying to make it a fun time. We got an inexpensive lunch out, which is becoming more and more of a treat, then went shopping. It's more like walking because we don't really buy anything.

After being home for a little bit, I drove my daughter to practice. After a few hours, on my way to pick her up, my truck made a loud pop. Now it misfires.

I literally sank in my seat, gripped my steering wheel as hard as I could, and said, "Oh Lord, no."

I have an idea of what's wrong, and it could be ugly. It really doesn't matter what it is; if it's more than the $50 I have, it's impossible.

Perfect!!

Just where my Heavenly Father does His best work.

I have nowhere to turn but to Him. A miracle is my only option. This is trusting God in difficult times—when I can't see the answer, but I know the One who has it.

Please pray with me, and I can't wait to share with you how God comes through again.

Thank you, Father, for one more day. Amen.

Psalms 23:1-4

[1] The Lord is my shepherd; I have all that I need. [2] He lets me rest in green meadows; he leads me beside peaceful streams. [3] He renews my strength. He guides me along right paths, bringing honor to his name. [4] Even when I walk through the darkest valley, I will not be afraid, for you are close beside me. Your rod and your staff protect and comfort me.
