Today's testimony is brought to you by my Heavenly Father.
Today is going to be a short testimony but a big one in my life. The Lord has brought me through so much in the past 10 years that it is impossible for me to remember it all. Many miracles, many life-saving situations, and a lot of growth. Recently, I shared a testimony of God's powerful hand on my body and healing, where I could walk and enjoy going places with my family. I am really enjoying it, and I thank God for blessing me. In sharing this story, I was invited to share my testimony in a group. I made a commitment a while back that anytime I get the chance to share what the Lord has done, I would immediately say yes.
For the next week, I purposely did not think about it or plan it. I knew that if I did, I would start to get anxious. The day before the meeting, anxiety really started to attack me. I can share my story in small groups of two or three pretty easily, but anything bigger and I begin to worry, and anxiety darn near shuts me down. After praying about it and giving it up to the Lord, He reminded me that I'm not sharing my story—I'm sharing His story. That was all the comfort I needed.
The next morning came along, and I didn't give one single thought to what I would say. I just prayed that everything I said would be His words and that to Him alone would be the glory. Of course, I had to fight the anxiety every few minutes, but I now had something to fight it with.
We arrived, and I felt great. I knew it was going to go well. We started with worship, and I could feel my spirit being lifted as the Lord was holding me.
I shared my testimony in a way where I felt as though I was simply telling a story about my best friend. I felt comfortable, I didn't feel anxious, and I knew that this was going to impact some of my friends. Instead of focusing on myself, I wanted them to see what the Lord had done.
The Lord showed me that I am changed today!
I have the tools to combat anxiety, fear of rejection, and the fear of saying something incorrect because I just need to relay what He did for me. I do not add, and I do not take away. I simply say what the Lord puts on my heart in that moment and give Him the glory for whatever impact it has.
I hope that this encourages you to share your testimony when you're asked so the lives around you may be encouraged. You never know who needs to hear what God has done in your life, and your willingness to speak may be exactly what the Lord uses to strengthen someone else's faith.
Thank You, Father, for one more day. Amen.
