Today’s testimony is brought to you by our Heavenly Father—through my life.
Raising children in this world is extremely difficult because you're constantly fighting for their attention. Everything around them is designed to distract and waste time. It takes real effort to pull them away from comfort and convenience just to enjoy a day hiking or at the beach. Staying home is easier—and that’s kind of sad.
But a few Sundays ago, we did just that—we pulled away.
We planned a simple day at the beach, just to explore and see what we could find. No big plans, no rush. Just being together. My daughter was instantly in the water, even though it was really cold. My son preferred to wander, finding unique driftwood and interesting sea shells. I walked with him, and we were having such a good time. No other concerns or responsibilities were on our minds.
It reminded me of when I was a kid—back before the stress and responsibilities—when life felt simple and light. So peaceful. That was the presence of my Heavenly Father. He brought that peace. That time was a gift from the Lord.
Walking through His creation in awe of His handiwork—especially while holding your child’s hand—is different. Their eyes are just beginning to open to His presence in everything. The questions they ask, the realizations they come to… it’s all so precious. Moments like these are priceless.
Thank You, Father, for blessing us with that day. Thank You for the memories, the laughter, and the peace that only comes from You.
And to anyone reading this—it’s never too late. Even if your kids are grown, even if they have children of their own, invite them. Take a walk. Plan a day at the beach. Step outside the distractions of the world and into the presence of the Almighty with your family. Share the peace and love that only our Heavenly Father can give.
