Trusting the Lord for New Strength: When You’re Running on Empty

A weary man sits on a cracked desert road beside his broken-down truck, head in his hands, a worn Bible resting on his knee. The sunset casts golden light through dark clouds, and faint eagles soar above him — symbolizing God’s renewal and the promise of trusting the Lord for new strength.
When you’ve reached the end of your own strength, that’s where God begins His work.  In the quiet of surrender, He lifts you — renewing your spirit and giving you the strength to soar again.

Isaiah 40:31

“But those who trust the Lord will find new strength. They will be strong like eagles soaring upward on wings; they will walk and run without getting tired.”

There have been times when my patience has run empty. Times when I wanted to live in the Lord’s promises now. He’s promised amazing things—even just the blessing of being healthy—and I’ve found myself growing tired of waiting. Sick and tired of trials, hardships, and the endless “wait and see.” My strength feels gone.

Have you been there?

God’s promises are powerful, but they rarely unfold when we think we’re ready. Waiting can be discouraging, even frustrating, because it feels like we’re wasting time or missing out. But this is where trusting the Lord for new strength becomes real.

When we truly trust Him, that trust becomes the source of our renewal. It lifts us. It gives us endurance to keep walking, even when our own strength has run out. But when we don’t trust—when we try to push forward on our own—that’s when the exhaustion wins.

If your heart is weary today, take a moment to pause and remember who holds your strength. In trusting the Lord for new strength, you’ll find peace that lifts you higher than the storm around you. Like an eagle rising above the wind, you can soar over the problems that once weighed you down.

Let His power become your endurance. Let His love become your calm. When you put your full trust in Him, walking and running with perseverance becomes possible—even after life’s hardest hits.

Without trust in the Lord, exhaustion is where it ends.

With trust, that’s where soaring begins.

Hebrews 10:35–39
