Hebrews 11:1
[1] Faith shows the reality of what we hope for; it is the evidence of things we cannot see.
Today is one of those days where I am reminded of how much the enemy controls this world. Not that I ever thought the world was great, but sometimes those reminders hit like a slap in the face.
Whenever things get tough or I’m left with a choice—either to have faith or to give in to doubt—this verse always comes to mind: faith is the evidence of things not seen Hebrews 11:1. My trust in God is built on my history with Him and what I’ve learned about His character. That kind of trust, if it’s real, should naturally lead to obedience and good decisions based on His principles.
This is not a blind faith. My confidence in God has come as a result of years of research, reflection, and seeing evidence that He is reliable and trustworthy. And every time I lean on Him, He proves Himself faithful again.
My prayer is that this devotion encourages you to start your own journey of faith. The kind of faith Hebrews talks about is not shallow—it’s a confident look to the future based on reliance on God’s promises. When you reach the point where you can move forward because you trust those promises, that’s great faith. That’s unshakable trust.
I know some of you may be struggling this morning, but let me remind you: God is trustworthy. He will always make good on His promises.
Hebrews 11:29
[29] It was by faith that the people of Israel went right through the Red Sea as though they were on dry ground. But when the Egyptians tried to follow, they were all drowned.
If God can part the sea for His people, He can and will make a way for you. Hold tight to His promises. Remember—faith is the evidence of things not seen Hebrews 11:1.
Amen.
