Your Life Has Purpose: Your Testimony Is His Story.

Psalms 139:16-18
[16] You saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was recorded in your book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed. [17] How precious are your thoughts about me, O God. They cannot be numbered! [18] I can’t even count them; they outnumber the grains of sand! And when I wake up, you are still with me!
King David was onto something here. His understanding was pretty awesome, and today it’s going to encourage and bless us.
God knew you and formed you in the womb, laying out each day of your life, which means each day, minute, and second has purpose. Your life has purpose, and knowing that should make us feel that every thought, action, and decision needs to be held up to the light of God’s will. As followers, we need to make the best decision possible with the information God has given us. His Word is a light that illuminates anything that we may need to address or bring before Him and ask for help correcting. Being flippant about these things is detestable to the Lord! It’s the same as being lukewarm; He will spit us out like a sip of hot coffee that has cooled down. Gross.
We’ve seen in the Bible that our lives are like a passing shadow, and the Lord is pleading with us to take it all captive and see the blessings in the midst of the chaos. He gives us opportunity after opportunity to earn lasting rewards in His Kingdom, our true home, and blessings for our faithful surrender.
I’ve been blessed to be reminded of the importance of our testimony and sharing the Lord’s work in our lives. Sermons, hearing testimonies, and being thanked for my testimony have brought me to a deeper understanding of what our lives really are.

Knowing and applying what David wrote in these verses means we are sharing God’s story when we share and testify to His work in our lives. When you understand that your life has purpose, you begin to see that your testimony isn’t about putting the spotlight on yourself. This is important because there are some who shy away from sharing because they don’t like to be spotlighted.
As I’ve been blessed to understand, my stories and testimonies are in no way shared to bring glory or the spotlight to me. They are to show that God works in all of us. I’m here to share that if He can work through an unemployed mechanic, He can and will work through you. That’s why I am open to sharing embarrassing things about myself or my mistakes, because it’s all a part of God’s story He’s writing in my life. By His grace and love, I’m moving forward.
Your life has purpose second to second, not just in the big stories. Share, be bold, be open, and watch the Lord work through your obedience.

Psalms 66:16-20
[16] Come and listen, all you who fear God, and I will tell you what he did for me. [17] For I cried out to him for help, praising him as I spoke. [18] If I had not confessed the sin in my heart, the Lord would not have listened. [19] But God did listen! He paid attention to my prayer. [20] Praise God, who did not ignore my prayer or withdraw his unfailing love from me.
