Do Not Worry About Everyday Life—God Is Already at Work for His Children

An adult man stands on a cluttered balcony surrounded by bills and daily stress, looking toward a peaceful landscape where sunlight forms a cross in the clouds and birds fly freely, symbolizing God’s provision and peace beyond worry.
Even in the chaos, God is still at work—if we’re willing to lift our eyes and trust what He’s already providing.

Matthew 6:25-26

[25]  “That is why I tell you not to worry about everyday life—whether you have enough food and drink, or enough clothes to wear. Isn’t life more than food, and your body more than clothing? [26] Look at the birds. They don’t plant or harvest or store food in barns, for your heavenly Father feeds them. And aren’t you far more valuable to him than they are?

When I read this chapter in Matthew, I feel like Jesus is speaking directly to me. Sometimes the enemy twists my mind, and I don’t feel valuable at all. Sometimes I stress out as soon as a problem appears, even though I know better.

This passage tells us to do not worry about everyday life. As we already know, worry is rooted in a lack of trust or faith in God’s plan. If we want to truly trust and fully commit ourselves to our calling and to God’s plan, we have to learn to rest in His promises.

He will take care of us. He keeps His promises.

Most of the time, we don’t have the plan laid out in front of us. Instead, God leaves us breadcrumbs—a path with confirmation at each step. But here’s the thing: we need to have our minds and hearts in the right place, because that’s how we recognize the next piece, the next step.

The enemy wants you to miss that next breadcrumb. He wants you to wander off the path and into the lion’s jaws lurking in the brush. Worry is one of the blinders that causes us to miss what God is doing right in front of us.

We all stumble, but the goal is to develop a habit of praying and seeking God the moment worry creeps in. Be intentional about creating a plan that brings you to the Lord every time fear shows up. When you do, watch Him lift the burden and set you back on the path He has prepared.

I’ve heard people say, “Well, I’m just a worrier—it’s who I am.”

No, my brothers and sisters. You are a child of God.

Worry is for the hopeless.

Worry is for those who do not rest in the promises of God.

To do not worry about everyday life is not denial—it is trust. It is choosing faith over fear and believing that God is already at work, even when we cannot see the full picture.

Father, I know worry is for the hopeless, and my hope is in You and in the resurrection of Jesus. I commit to seeking You the moment worry shows its ugliness. Please forgive me for my lack of faith.

Thank You, Father, for one more day. Amen.

Matthew 6:28-30

[28]  “And why worry about your clothing? Look at the lilies of the field and how they grow. They don’t work or make their clothing, [29] yet Solomon in all his glory was not dressed as beautifully as they are. [30] And if God cares so wonderfully for wildflowers that are here today and thrown into the fire tomorrow, he will certainly care for you. Why do you have so little faith?
