Let Go, Trust God’s Plan, and Rest

Jesus stands calmly at the helm of a modern motorboat, steering through a fierce ocean storm with waves crashing and lightning in the distance. In the foreground, a young man sleeps peacefully in the rain-soaked boat, wearing a dark hoodie, resting with full trust as chaos surrounds them. The scene powerfully contrasts turmoil and peace, symbolizing trusting God’s plan in the middle of life’s storms.
You can rest, even in the storm—when Jesus is at the wheel. Trusting God’s plan doesn’t mean the storm won’t come… it means you don’t have to fear it.

✝️ Peace isn’t found in control. It’s found in surrender.

Isaiah 55:8–9

“My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts,” says the Lord. “And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine. For just as the heavens are higher than the earth, so my ways are higher than your ways and my thoughts higher than your thoughts.”

I can’t see what’s happening. I can’t see where we’re going. I don’t know what’s next or how to prepare. Should I be worried? Will this one be bad?

All of these concerns flood my mind… and yet, no answers come. So what do I do?

Trust and let go. Have faith and let go.

I don’t believe you can have one without the other. You can’t say, “I trust You,” if you’re still reaching for the controls or constantly trying to peek at the map.

We will never fully understand God's thoughts or ways—maybe not even a little. But at some point, you have to decide: Do I believe God is trustworthy? Am I trusting God's plan?

I made that decision based on the evidence I found in Jesus’ life, in the miracles, and in God’s undeniable goodness. The proof is in His love for me—He gave His only Son to die for my sins because He wanted a better life for me.

So I chose to trust Him. I chose to let Him lead.

Isaiah reminds us that God's ways are higher—so much higher—that we can stop striving, stop stressing, and stop grabbing at the wheel. We’re not meant to figure it all out. He invites us to let go of the need to control and trust that He’s leading us on the best path.

That path might not always look easy. It might not feel clear. But it's filled with purpose. It's where we grow. And it's where we’ll find peace—when we let go.

Let’s be honest: letting go is hard. We want to know the outcome. We want to make sure this path really is the best one. We want to skip the pain or detours. But the truth is this: you can’t move forward with God without faith and trust.

So let go. Get out of the way. Obey when God says, “Move.” And trust that He’s already gone before you.

Jeremiah 17:7–8

“But blessed are those who trust in the Lord and have made the Lord their hope and confidence. They are like trees planted along a riverbank, with roots that reach deep into the water. Such trees are not bothered by the heat or worried by long months of drought. Their leaves stay green, and they never stop producing fruit.”
