Living a Life That Glorifies God — Your Testimony Is Your Ministry

Cracked clay jar glowing with warm light shining through the broken pieces, symbolizing how God uses broken lives and testimonies to glorify Him and bring hope to others.
God doesn’t wait for a perfect life to work through—He shines His light through our cracks so that our stories can lead others to Him.

2 Corinthians 9:13-15

[13] As a result of your ministry, they will give glory to God. For your generosity to them and to all believers will prove that you are obedient to the Good News of Christ.[14] And they will pray for you with deep affection because of the overflowing grace God has given to you.[15] Thank God for this gift too wonderful for words!

Ministry.

The beginning of this scripture brings tears to my eyes: “As a result of your ministry, they will give glory to God.”

This is my life’s purpose.

When I pray for the Lord to give me the words He wants me to share, I understand that nothing is off the table. If He puts something on my heart—even something that embarrasses me—I share it. I’m honored that the Lord would choose me to do this. The enemy has tried to sink his claws into me from time to time, but I lean into my Heavenly Father for strength.

Despite all the garbage the enemy throws in my face, I remember why I’m doing this.

I’m doing this to glorify God.

That’s what living a life that glorifies God really looks like.

Our lives in service of God.

Our mistakes used to glorify God.

Our successes used to glorify God.

Our weaknesses exposed to glorify God.

Each thing you go through is meant to strengthen you and be used to encourage or help a brother or sister who can relate. I can say from experience that knowing the Lord may use the mistakes I make to help others see His glory in my weakness makes me think twice. No one likes looking like an idiot, but if I go down that road, praise God that He can use it to hopefully deter someone else.

Our lives and our testimonies are a ministry. Stop and think about that.

What do people see when they look at how you live? Do they say, “Wow, he has lots of money and stuff?” Or do they say, “Wow, if he can praise God through the storm he’s riding out, so can I.”

That is what living a life that glorifies God really means. It’s not about perfection. It’s about obedience and pointing people back to Him through every part of our story.

Keep your eyes focused on things not of this world. Rest in the understanding that your value and purpose are found in your relationship with and obedience to our Heavenly Father.

The enemy will attack, and the world will look appealing at times. But the reward waiting for us is beyond comprehension and will last for eternity.

You have a ministry.You don’t need a building.You don’t even need a meeting.

All that’s needed is your obedience.

Thank you, Father, for one more day. Amen.

Colossians 3:23-25

[23] Work willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people.[24] Remember that the Lord will give you an inheritance as your reward, and that the Master you are serving is Christ.[25] But if you do what is wrong, you will be paid back for the wrong you have done. For God has no favorites.
