1 Peter 5:6-7
[6] So humble yourselves under the mighty power of God, and at the right time he will lift you up in honor. [7] Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you.
Peace.
Sometimes it feels like we don’t really know what true peace is or how to actually experience it. The kind of peace I tend to feel only shows up when I’m surrounded by things that could easily take it away.
The world tells us that peace is just the absence of problems—or learning how to ignore them. But as followers, we know from God’s Word that the opportunity for peace actually comes through our problems.
Even when we’re faced with a million different ways to react, peace is ultimately God’s comfort in whatever we’re going through. That’s where trusting God for peace starts to become real.
When I feel angry, frustrated, worried, or when anxiety starts to take over, how do I actually get to a calmer place?I think it comes down to recognizing that letting go of those feelings—and finding peace—comes from trusting in God.
It really seems like peace is impossible without that trust.True peace doesn’t exist anywhere else or in any other way.
I truly believe God has a plan for the hard times my family and I are going through. That kind of confidence doesn’t just show up—it comes from building a relationship with Him over time. And honestly, there’s no reason not to trust Him. My Heavenly Father has always been there for me.
I’m even a little hesitant to say “God showed up,” because that almost sounds like He wasn’t there before. And that’s not true.
God is unchanging and unmoving. It’s us who move closer or farther away in the relationship.
Instead of anxiety, peace has always been available in every moment.
Whenever we choose worry, anger, or look for comfort somewhere else, we’re missing what’s already there.
The peace that comes from trusting God for peace was always within reach.
Life will always have challenges, but trusting God and finding peace in His will is what carries us through them.
Thank you, Father, for one more day. Amen.
Isaiah 26:3-4
[3] The Lord gives perfect peace to those whose faith is firm. [4] So always trust the Lord because he is forever our mighty rock.
