When the Power of Prayer Changes Your Focus

Today's testimony is brought to you by my Heavenly Father.
This testimony is pretty awesome for me because the Lord showed me something He wants me to focus on, at least for the time being.
I love working with guys who are learning what it means to be the type of man the Lord expects in this world. Honestly, we're in for a tough time standing up for what is right and pure when the cool kids do the exact opposite. I absolutely believe that the only way forward is to change our core group into brothers seeking to embrace their identity in Jesus.
One Saturday, a brother had set up a worship and prayer time in a park, and I wanted to go.
As I was getting ready, the Lord put it on my heart to take my son with me. He is now 14 and turning into a man. I asked him if he wanted to go, and he actually said yes! I was kind of shocked. So we both got ready and headed out. I didn't know what to expect, but I knew my beloved brothers were going to be there, so I was excited.
We arrived, hugged and greeted each other, and then started worshiping the Lord through singing and focusing on Him. I had to pray for the Lord to help me focus because there was so much on my mind, including what my son was going to think of all of this. In that moment, I felt pulled into a deep fellowship with the Lord, and everything else melted away. No worry, no thoughts about my son, not even really focusing on the music, even though it helped me. The Lord changed my heart and my focus, and I knew I was in for a good time.
We read some Scripture and discussed it for a bit. There were a lot of great perspectives, and it reminded me of another reason why we need each other.
Then we began to pray. My brother prayed over me, and I prayed over him. The Lord gave me a vision that I shared with my brother, and I received a world of knowledge for him as well. It was incredible, and I was so full of joy. Through the power of prayer, the Lord was encouraging both of us in ways neither of us could have planned.
When we finished praying, we stood up, and as I looked around, I saw a huddle with a hand laid on someone's shoulder. I walked over and joined them. The Lord began giving me words of knowledge for them, with instant confirmation as they said things like, "Yes, that's exactly what I felt the Lord saying," or, "That is exactly what I've been going through."
It was powerful, and it blessed me so much. I felt supercharged.
I wanted more and felt like I could have kept going all day if there were more men there.
What I learned from all of this is that one of my gifts from the Lord is prayer. The amount of joy I received from praying for my brothers, then seeing the Lord speak through me to encourage them, completely changed my focus. The power of prayer was not only helping others—it was transforming me as well.
I am thankful the Lord opened my eyes to one of my callings, and I will now be taking steps to go deeper into this new joy. Please pray for me, that I keep my focus on the Lord so I can better serve my brothers and sisters and continue walking in the power of prayer He has entrusted to me.
Thank you, Father, for one more day. Amen.
