Joshua 24:15
"But if you refuse to serve the Lord, then choose today whom you will serve. Would you prefer the gods your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates? Or will it be the gods of the Amorites in whose land you now live? But as for me and my family, we will serve the Lord.”
In the journey of Christian parenting, we’ve been given clear, God-ordained guidelines for building a home that honors Him. These truths shape how we lead, love, and live—not just for our own growth, but for the legacy we're leaving behind. As our children grow and mature, having a consistent Christ-centered foundation is essential—not only for them, but for anyone who walks through our doors.
Christian parenting requires more than just good intentions—it requires commitment. When your son or daughter begins to push boundaries or wrestle with faith-based questions, your steady leadership becomes a testimony. These moments will test your patience but also prove your consistency. It’s where faith meets real life.
1 Corinthians 13:11 says, “When I was a child, I spoke and thought and reasoned as a child. But when I grew up, I put away childish things.” That verse became real for me the day my son suddenly stopped enjoying one of our favorite childhood games. I wasn’t ready—but the moment came anyway. It felt like a small loss, a quiet grief—but tucked inside that moment was also pride. Pride in the man he's becoming.
These quick shifts are part of parenting, and especially Christian parenting. What remains constant is God’s truth. His principles—introduced in the early years—are the anchor that holds through every storm and growth spurt.
As parents, we’re called not only to care for our children but to lead them in the ways of the Lord. Christian parenting is a sacred stewardship. One day you're holding them with one arm; the next, you’re talking about calling, identity, and purpose. Don't miss the moments. Don’t take their hearts for granted.
Thank God daily for the gift of family. Embrace your role with seriousness and love. Your children may continue—or even complete—the work God began in you. They will become the decision-makers, the spiritual leaders, and the legacy builders.
So build now. Lay the solid Rock foundation today. That's the heartbeat of Christian parenting—guiding children toward the Lord so that when they are older, they will not depart from Him.
1 Corinthians 13:11–13
[11] When I was a child, I spoke and thought and reasoned as a child. But when I grew up, I put away childish things. [12] Now we see things imperfectly, like puzzling reflections in a mirror, but then we will see everything with perfect clarity. All that I know now is partial and incomplete, but then I will know everything completely, just as God now knows me completely. [13] Three things will last forever—faith, hope, and love—and the greatest of these is love.
