Proverbs 11:3
“Honesty guides good people; dishonesty destroys treacherous people.”
Transparency. That was the word I got from the Lord this morning. It took me a little bit to think it through, but it became clear: living with honesty and transparency in Christian living is what He calls us to.
Living your life openly sold out for Jesus means being honest with God and others, and aligning your life with the Bible. It’s about being the person who owns up to mistakes instead of trying to hide them. It’s about apologizing and making restitution when needed. We all make mistakes. The real question is—what do people see after? Do they see a person who shifts blame, or do they see Jesus reflected in your humility?
We are called to live in such a way that at any moment, people can see our Heavenly Father. Others should be able to clearly recognize honesty in our words and actions. They should be able to see that our motives are pure. This kind of transparency flows out of a heart of humility, remembering that without God’s grace, we are lost.
God’s Word calls us to confess our sins to fellow believers and ask for prayer and accountability. This is not weakness—it’s part of living with honesty and transparency in Christian living. It’s how we share our burdens and help carry one another’s struggles. And just as we share in struggles, we also share in each other’s victories and rejoice together.
2 Corinthians 4:2 reminds us:
“We reject all shameful deeds and underhanded methods. We don’t try to trick anyone or distort the word of God. We tell the truth before God, and all who are honest know this.”
When we walk in integrity and transparency, we don’t need to manipulate or hide. Instead, we point people straight to Jesus through a life that is open, humble, and honest.
Amen.
