Romans 12:9-10
[9] Don’t just pretend to love others. Really love them. Hate what is wrong. Hold tightly to what is good. [10] Love each other with genuine affection, and take delight in honoring each other.
Love.
To love each other is the greatest command from the Lord. Everything else falls into place when you truly love and have genuine affection. Forgiveness, mercy, and grace all come from love. You cannot have any of them without it. Without love, we have nothing; we are nothing.
Loving one another as Christians is not just something we say—it’s something we live.
All of us have experienced love in its purest form from our Savior. Some of us have experienced that same love through a brother or sister in their obedience to the Lord. The feeling is unmistakable. You know your Father is working through their “yes,” lifting you up and encouraging you right when you need it.
As brothers and sisters in this family of followers, our job is to not let the love God has shown us stop with us. Let it flow.
Your brother needs it desperately.Your sister needs it desperately.
Sometimes it’s as simple as an uplifting word. Other times it’s showing up, helping, or giving when it would be easier not to.
Sharing is a natural part of a big family. I grew up in a family of seven—we shared everything from clothes to food. There were very few things that were just ours, and even those were shared from time to time.
It’s the same in our Father’s family.
If I have something a brother could use, why wouldn’t I give it to him? Knowing what I know about my Father—that He always provides what I need—there should be nothing holding me back.
Loving one another as Christians looks like this:
Give.
Meet up.
Encourage.
Share.
Love each other.
Thank you, Father, for one more day. Amen.
Romans 12:12-13
[12] Rejoice in our confident hope. Be patient in trouble, and keep on praying. [13] When God’s people are in need, be ready to help them. Always be eager to practice hospitality.
