Isaiah 41:10
Don't be afraid. I am with you. Don't tremble with fear. I am your God. I will make you strong, as I protect you with my arm and give you victories.
Every day we battle. Every day something can push us to the limits and beat us down to our knees. We don’t know what is coming next, but we have a gift from our Father that defends and protects us—His armor.
There have been a few times in my life when I received a serious call in the middle of the night. Normally, if my phone rings while I’m sleeping, I don’t know about it until I wake up and see a missed call. But by the grace of God, the times I needed to answer, I woke up. I truly believe that was God helping me—strengthening me and protecting me in ways I didn’t even realize at the time.
This morning, my wife got one of those calls.
No warning.
No chance to prepare.
Nothing—just a call.
That’s the reality of life. Battles don’t send invitations. Fear doesn’t wait until we’re ready.
That’s why putting on the Armor of God to overcome fear is not optional—it’s necessary. We need to be suited up every day, all day, so we can stand when these moments hit. That is our only real chance to keep fear and worry from taking over.
Our God loves us so much that He gave us a way to soften the blow. A way to make it through. He saw how painful and difficult life can be and offered us protection so we could move forward and withstand the sadness, pain, and suffering this world brings.
Thank You, Lord.
Stay suited up.
Stay on your knees, seeking the face of God.
This armor is made for battle. It’s supposed to look tattered and worn—marked with dents and scars that show your life was saved because you were wearing it. Armor that sits on a shelf, brand new and unused, won’t help when tragedy strikes or when the enemy attacks.
If we show up to battle naked, we’re going to have a bad time.
No wonder we feel devastated and wrecked when fear hits—we weren’t prepared. Putting on the Armor of God to overcome fear means choosing readiness over comfort, prayer over panic, and faith over fear.
I pray this motivates you to suit up every single day and seek God with all your heart.
Thank You, Father, for another day. Amen.
Ephesians 6:14–17
[14] Be ready! Let the truth be like a belt around your waist, and let God's justice protect you like armor.[15] Your desire to tell the good news about peace should be like shoes on your feet.[16] Let your faith be like a shield, and you will be able to stop all the flaming arrows of the evil one.[17] Let God's saving power be like a helmet, and for a sword use God's message that comes from the Spirit.
