Today's Testimony - God Answers Prayers

Updated: Jun 24

A painting-style image of two men standing in prayer over a third man seated with his head bowed. The standing men have their hands placed gently on his shoulders and back, with a warm light illuminating the group, symbolizing spiritual support and God's presence.
A sacred moment of prayer and presence—because when we lift each other up, God meets us there.

Today's testimony is brought to you by our Heavenly Father—through my brothers and me.

After a while of being trusted with spontaneous opportunities to pray for people, you stop being surprised when they just pop up out of nowhere. Well, the other night, a couple of my brothers and I were at a local coffee shop having one of our usual meet-ups and fellowship. I just love meeting with these guys. The conversation always turns quickly to the Lord—what struggles we've faced, what victories we've seen.

In the middle of our chat, one of the guys mentioned he felt like a brother we hadn’t seen in a while might not be doing too well (thank You, Holy Spirit). As a group, we decided to reach out and text him to see how he was doing—and told him we’d love to come over and pray. His response? Something like, “Come on over.”

So we all piled into my SUV and did the Lord’s Uber over to our brother’s house.

When we arrived, it was just good to see him again. We shared updates, heard what the doctors were saying, and then got up into a huddle right there in the living room.

The Lord was there with us.

I could feel my Father’s presence so clearly. I just knew something powerful was about to happen. So I began to pray.

But then… it wasn’t flowing like it normally does. I started fumbling with my words, and doubt began to creep in. Was I doing something wrong? I looked up and quietly asked my Father to help me. And from then on, it was much better. The other guys followed with powerful prayers, and we finished in unity. Even though my head was struggling to focus, I could still feel the Lord with us.

After some goodbyes and hugs, we went on our way.

That night, I kept replaying my "fumble." But then, at just the right moment, this verse popped into my heart: “My power works best in weakness.” It all made sense. This was a lesson for me. It’s not the eloquence of my words that carries power. It’s not the people I’m with that brings the breakthrough. It’s the presence of my Heavenly Father in the room, fulfilling His promises, that carries all the power. All God needs is for us to be willing and to show up. He’ll take care of the rest.

The next day, we got a group text from the brother we prayed for—he had finally slept through the night without night sweats. First time in a while. He was encouraged. We don’t know all of God’s plans for him, but we do know this: he is loved. And we’re not going to stop praying.

God answers prayers.
