When Life Feels Fragile, the Lord’s Blessing Becomes Clearer

A family of four sits at a simple dinner table with heads bowed in prayer, minimal food before them, warm light forming a subtle cross as they give thanks for God’s blessings.
Sometimes the greatest blessings aren’t found in abundance, but in the simple gifts already before us—faith, family, and the quiet presence of God.

Psalm 115:15

May the Lord who created the heavens and the earth give you his blessing.

We are blessed.

Today, I want to encourage you to recognize the Lord’s blessing in your life. Dedicate some time to it. Slow down and think about all that is good in your life, and thank the Lord for it. All good things come from God. Every breath, every relationship, every moment we’re given is evidence of the Lord’s blessing poured out on us.

I always like to start by asking the Lord to change my heart. I need His help to fight my selfishness and pride so I can see my life as it truly is—a gift. Life itself is proof that we are loved. When our hearts are aligned with Him, we become more aware of the Lord’s blessing, even in the ordinary moments we often overlook.

Yesterday, a man I’ve followed for years—someone whose YouTube content I had really enjoyed recently—died in an airplane crash alongside his wife and kids. People pass away all the time, but this one hit differently. He had a family similar to mine, and for whatever reason, it was painful to think about. It caused me to stop and remember how fragile and fleeting this life truly is. No guarantees. No exceptions.

That realization changed something in me. My hugs became a little harder and a little longer. I had more patience. More understanding. Then it hit me—this is why. This is why this feeling was tugging so strongly at my heart. I was seeing my family through my Lord’s eyes. I was recognizing the Lord’s blessing more clearly in what I already had.

I pray that the rest of that man’s family is met with God’s grace and love during this unbelievable time. Moments like these remind us how quickly everything can change, and how important it is to stay focused on what truly matters.

It’s easy to let the hustle of the season pull us into the meaningless parts of it all. Funny how that happens without us even noticing. But now I’m aware—and I intend to stay focused. When we slow down and reflect, the Lord’s blessing becomes harder to miss.

My prayer for you is that you focus on what’s important this season. The gifts don’t matter. The food doesn’t matter. What matters is your focus on the Kingdom and loving others the way God loves you. Love is the answer. Living in gratitude allows us to fully experience the Lord’s blessing at work in our lives.

Thank you, Father, for another day. Amen.

Colossians 2:6–7

[6] You have accepted Christ Jesus as your Lord. Now keep on following him.[7] Plant your roots in Christ and let him be the foundation for your life. Be strong in your faith, just as you were taught. And be grateful.
